Custom Option: Keel Strip

Jaeger shown with optional black keel strip. Photo courtesy of Waterlines.

Although keel strips do add an extra layer of protection to your hull, we do not generally recommend them to our customers. Our boats will hold up very well to normal use and it's generally better to add one several years down the line if/when needed.  If you expect to spend most of your time landing on rocky beaches or dragging your kayak, however, you may want to consider adding a keel strip as a preventative measure.

  • Standard keel strips include a 3" wide fiberglass reinforcement that runs the length of the hull.
  • Available in whatever gelcoat color you prefer, but we recommend white or black.
  • Cost: $150.00
  • Weight: +2-3 lbs.
